I am writing this message to all to clarify the club’s standpoint on the current Covid 19 pandemic.
With the continued spread of the Virus we are determined to not be the Club that shuts Football down again in NSW.
Under advice from the NSW Health Department and NNSW Football the following is the club’s standpoint on Covid 19.
Any Member of the playing group that visits the Greater Metropolitan area known as Sydney, Victoria, or another known hotspot or has been in contact with someone that has Visited these areas has to either Self isolate from the club and any member of the club for 14 days on their return to Newcastle, or have a Covid 19 test at an approved testing station and supply a Negative result to a club official (Including Coach) before attending Training, Social events, Games with Club Members in Attendance. Penalties will be applied if it is found that you are not doing the right thing by the club and your teammates and the greater community honesty is the key to stopping the spread, this is applicable from 8:00am today.
To our Youth Players the same thing applies and is extended to immediate family members.
The Testing stations are very Efficient, Through personal experience, The Drive in one at the University is very good, You phone for an appointment, You Drive through at your allotted time and Results are normally sent by text within 24 hrs, this means that if you have worked in Sydney for the week and get tested on Friday PM you will normally get your results back sometime on Saturday.so clear to play on Sunday assuming a negative Result.
This might seem harsh, but it appears that the Virus is again Spreading and we need to do all we can to protect our immediate community.
I will take the opportunity to again emphasise that all Covid 19 protocols that are in place at Ulinga have to be followed, We are only allowed to operate under a Covid 19 safety plan which has to be signed off on by Numerous Authorities, These protocols are part of that safety plan and this is available for viewing at Ulinga if Required.
I will also take the opportunity to thank everyone on there efforts thus far in what is proving to be a very testing and Different season.
